10 Statement Plus Blogger Looks From 2016

(img C/o NicoletteMason.com)
2016 was not the best year. The list of reasons why it shall go down as a year most of us would like to forget, is truly endless. One wee glimmer of light I saw this year was so many plus bloggers evolving their style, mixing it up or simply cementing their trademark aesthetic.

Christmas Party-wear - The LBD

I used to dread the office Christmas party when I worked in fashion buying. Surrounded by super fashionable people in beautiful dresses, I just felt horrible in generally everything I wore. I lacked in self confidence so covered up just about every part of me that I could. Now, my mindset couldn't be more different, and although I sometimes do have my off days - think we all do - I'm open to trying different styles, shapes and colours, things I had never really experimented with much at all back in those dreaded office party days. This December, I wanted to show you my favourite classic wardrobe staple - the little black dress, which will always have your back for the party season.

4 Ways You Can Give Yourself A Quick Confidence Boost

Over the past few weeks, I haven't been feeling at my most confident, for a number of reasons. Feeling a little unwell due to my chronic pain condition, becoming a mother to an extremely excitable puppy and just generally not feeling myself have all added to a dip in confidence. This week, I've managed to pick myself back up and boost my confidence with 4 quick tips, which I thought I'd share, in the hope that they'll work for you too.

Autumns Easy-to-Wear Dress

I am so here for items that you can style in different ways. There's something so satisfying in reinventing/restyling an outfit into something new and fresh. I recently blogged about a very lovely pinny dress, and thought I'd wear a new one I have from Dorothy Perkins plus, a little differently.

Autumn Lust List

Once in a while, there comes a magical time, where you browse your favourite clothing websites and want to buy it all. I'm currently experiencing one of these rare moments, and want to buy absolutely E V E R Y T H I N G. Possibly due to loving just about every trend we have this season. From chunky knits, to platform boots, there's pretty much nothing I'm not into this autumn.

Embracing Black for Autumn

I've realised over the past few weeks that I've been subconsciously incorporating a lot more black into my wardrobe, which if you know me well, is very unlike me! I'm enjoying playing with a more gothic colour palette of black, berries and rich tones, whilst still adding a few feminine touches.

#ShareTheLove with Curvissa

When Curvissa asked me to get involved in their #ShareTheLove campaign, it was an immediate yes.  I'm the kind of person that isn't shy to give out praise, and let someone know that I love their content/vibe/general human self, so this campaign is pretty perfect as it combines my love for blogging/bloggers and sharing a little bit of love.

Style | Muted Monochrome

I spoke a little of autumn/winter wardrobe staples in my last post, and this post will be no different, with the pinny dress being the next item to add to your list! These dresses tend to come back around every couple of seasons, but this year you'll mainly see them in cord, velvet and beautifully rich shades of oxblood.

Style | Autumn Blooms

When I think of autumnal wardrobe staples, Maxi dresses aren't something that jumps to mind, but since AW15 we've seen an influx in billowy, autumnal maxi's onsite and instores, in rich tones and wintery florals, and I'm definitely here for them this season. Let the autumn looks begin!

Style | Country Casual

I recently moved from the sea to the country, swapping seagulls and water for sheep and mud - happy to get rid of the seagull fear, not so happy to be stuck behind a tractor EVERY time I leave the house. I have been learning a few things though to try to fit in a little more with the locals...

Style + Beauty | Ballet Hues

I could definitely be accused of favouritism towards a muted, neutral colour palette, as I tend to be pretty loyal to the powdery pale pinks, ivory's and pale greys, especially in spring summer. I've seen a massive influx in my favourite shades this season, so thought I'd put together a style and beauty edit for this super gorgeous colour palette.

Style | Summer Romance

If you've followed my blog for a while, you might have realised that recently I've been experimenting with my style, and trying out different colours and shapes, but I always seem gravitate back towards my original, romantic fabrics and palettes - lace and blush pink will forever have my heart!

Fashion | Beach Bardot

We are finally seeing some legit summer sun, albeit sporadic and usually in 10 minute bursts, but at least it's happening right?! I don't tend to wear too much black in the summer, as I like to stick to clean, neutral shades but when I opened this super gorgeous bardot neck top from River Island + I had to try it out!

Fashion | Spring Hues

It is so lovely to finally be able to wear dresses and sandals again. In the UK it feels like we've gone from winter to autumn, and now finally back to spring, so I'm taking full advantage of the weather and dressing for summer whenever I can. I received this lovely summer dress last week, and couldn't wait to style it for a casual day out.

So, you're probably thinking why on earth are you only blogging about the River Island + collection now, when it launched in March?! The answer is, I completely forgot that I'd taken a few snaps to show you a couple of pieces from the original collection!

Fashion | Western Wear

If you've followed my blog for a while, you'll probably have picked up on the fact that I wear a lot of pink, romantic styles as that's generally my comfort zone and what I've realised over the past couple of years, has evolved into my 'style'. This spring I thought I'd try something a little different and play around with a few pieces from this seasons western trend.

Fashion | Tres Tulle

Over the past few weeks I've noticed a definite shift in what I'm actively choosing to wear - less black, and a lot of pastel! I don't think there's any outfit too pastel filled when it comes to spring, as like the breton stripe - it's a classic spring staple. One very beautiful new addition to my wardrobe is this classically chic pink straight cut blazer from Navabi.

Fashion | Spring Botanicals

We FINALLY have some spring sunshine, albeit sporadic, so I've been starting to add a few more casual pieces into my wardrobe, noticing I'm heavily into one particular trend this season - florals. Florals come back year after year in spring in different textures and styles. This year the material is light and delicate and the print itself is ethereal and botanical - definitely one of my favourite types of floral. I rarely dress in jeans and t-shirts (I'm a dress kinda girl!), but saw these from the new Newlook Curve range and had to give them a go!

Fashion | New Look Curves + Giveaway

New Look Inspire has always been there for us plus size babes. In my teens and through uni it was one of the only on-trend stores I could go to to actually try things on to test fit, as I did most of my shopping online usually having to guess the right size. Over the past couple years the brand seems to have focused their inspire range on basics, so I was thrilled to hear that the inspire range was being completely revamped to feature more on trend pieces.

Fashion | Sprinkle of Lace

Each season, there are a few select pieces which always get me excited, and keen to start re-evaluating my wardrobe for that particular time of year. This dress was most definitely one of them. I bought it at the beginning of March, and had a painful 3 week wait until it was finally delivered, in all it's delicious lacey glory.

This week, I thought I'd share a few snaps of this gorgeous and super easy to style dress I've had for a while. You might have seen it on the mega babe that is Danie Vanier (who could quite easily nail any look!) so as I haven't blogged about it - or even shared an insta snap of it!! - here are a few pictures from my birthday evening out.

Fashion | OOTD Bombers + Mermaids

One of my favourite spring trends has to be the bomber jacket. I had one when I was about 8, it was orange, couldn't have been anymore 90's and I was in love with it. I've upgraded to one which is much more easy on the eye, and perfect for spring.

On the morning after my birthday, I popped on this absolute delight of a lingerie set, a shirt and relaxed in bed. Sometimes, it's nice to just have a chilled morning, especially when you have a beautiful hotel room to enjoy. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to show you this uniquely gorgeous plus-size/fuller bust lingerie set from Sculptresse - the sister brand of lingerie experts Panache.

Fashion | Pink to Make Bae Wink

In the run up to spring, I'm all about building my wardrobe for the warmer (wishful thinking!) months, so start adding in pastel hues and light breezy pieces which will last me the season. This coat may be a little heavy for said months, however I couldn't resist it as it's absolutely stunning. Especially beautiful paired with my new Igigi dress, and fur baby aka clutch bag.

Fashion | The Statement Knit

I love those winter days, when you wake up, look outside your window and it's FINALLY not raining (or snowing), but the sun has decided to make a much needed appearance. I used to be easily deceived thinking spring had come early and head out minus a coat - I know better now as it's still freezing! This week I tried out a very beautiful embellished knitwear piece which gives me crazy emoji heart eyes. (Be prepared for some VERY windswept pictures!).

Fashion | SPRING STRIPES

This week it's been pretty cold in the UK with a lot of snow in the north, and a general chill everywhere else, so I've been wrapped up super snug (almost hibernating). I've seen quite a few bloggers brave the cold bare legged over the past couple weeks, and as much as I'm all for that, it was just far too cold for me to do it in this particular outfit (plus it's nice to show a little variety), so I donned my trusty leggings and headed out.

Fashion | Matchy Matchy with Very So Fabulous

I rarely wear matching sets, as I tend to like mixing things up a little bit, but sometimes it feels quite satisfying to match. The lovely ladies at Very (So Fabulous), sent me this gorgeous short + blazer set last month and I'm completely in love with it! I've worn them both as a set and on their own on a few occasions and have had so many compliments.

Fashion | PRETTY KITTY WITH SCULPTRESSE BY PANACHE

I thought it was fitting to start the year off with a half naked blog post, why not start as we mean to go on! This is a rather special plus size lingerie set, as it's from one of my favourite brands -  Sculptresse by Panache - who recently asked if I'd like to be an ambassador for them! I delightfully accepted, and received thee most beautiful fiery red, star clad set in the post.
